As more and more people are getting vaccinated, travel is back on everyone’s radar. I remember the days when Rami and I were taking multiple vacations a year — truly feels like a lifetime ago. As my lifestyle has slowed down after 2020, my priorities have also shifted. While I once craved pedal to metal, city vacations, I am now leaning towards calmer vacations, to rest, relax, and soak in sun or nature. Therefore, the 3 places I can’t to visit are where time slows down and I can enjoy the slower pace of life, while recharging my soul.

First place on my list is Pakistan. If you don’t know by now, I am Pakistani. My entire family still lives in Karachi and I have not visited since 2017, so a visit is long overdue. While Pakistan is a country abundant in natural, historical, and cultural riches, it is home for me. I love visiting as I don’t have to lift a finger while I’m there. I love spending time with my parents, siblings, cousins and nieces and nephews. The days run together and I am in peaceful, well fed, and well rested heaven!
Second place I would love to visit are the beautiful islands of Fiji. Rami and I love an island getaway! We have travelled to some breathtaking beach destinations including the Maldives, Hawaii, Bahamas and Tulum, however, Fiji has always been on our list of places to visit. I am really hoping that visiting Fiji is a possibility sometime this year. All I would want, is to lay on the beach, without a care in the world and bask in the sun.
Lastly, I’d love to take an Alaskan Cruise. Everyone who has been on an Alaskan cruise always raves about it and I am definitely intrigued! I have also ever been on a cruise. I imagine it to be fairly relaxing as majority of the time would be spent on the ship and the guess work of where to eat and what to do would be limited — can you gauge the level of lazy vacations I want to take this year?! As I’ve gotten older, I really do appreciate vacations where I get to soak in nature and I know the Alaskan cruise would be a once in a lifetime kind of views that I cannot wait to experience!
